About the event

About the speaker: Alexis Gilbert works in isotope geochemistry, focusing on the use of stable isotopes to understand natural processes. His research explores isotopic signatures in compounds and materials to uncover insights into biogeochemical cycles and environmental changes. He’s particularly interested in method development for new types of isotope measurements, including position-specific and clumped isotope analysis of organic molecules. He recently moved from Tokyo Tech to Utrecht University, where he’s involved in the measurement of clumped isotopes of methane from various sources.
