Isotopologue Network for Early Career Researchers (ECR)
Isotopologues School (IsoSchool)
IsoSchool aims to address the existing gap in the dissemination of knowledge related to stable isotope geochemistry, particularly focusing on isotopologues of simple molecules containing rare heavy isotopes of elements.
We are happy to present the first series of lectures on isotopologues, named Isotopologue School (IsoSchool). In the field of stable isotope geochemistry, isotopologues of simple molecules containing rare heavy isotopes of elements, such as carbon (13C) and oxygen (17O or 18O), have been proven to show the remarkable ability to trace equilibrium and kinetic processes in natural environments and have the great potential to understand Earth's past better. However, the knowledge necessary to start in this field is sometimes difficult to acquire in the literature or during the international clumped isotopes workshops.
To fill this gap, IsoSchool will take place over two days in order to provide a strong background on the methodology, the different instruments, and the board applications in Earth Sciences and create potential future collaborative projects. During this two-day workshop, we will present the basic knowledge of the two main isotopologues methods: clumped isotope (Δ47, Δ48, Δ13CH3D and Δ12CH2D2) and triple oxygen isotopic system. It will take place in two sessions, one per day.
